About Lainey Wilson

Lainey Wilson (born May 19, 1992, in Baskin, Louisiana) is a Grammy- and CMA-winning country singer-songwriter celebrated for her authentic style and tenacious work ethic. She built her early career performing in honky‑tonks and releasing an independent debut in 2014, but her breakout arrived with the 2021 single “Things a Man Oughta Know,” which topped Billboard Country Airplay and earned her Academy of Country Music and Country Music Association New Female Artist of the Year awards.

In October 2022, Wilson released her fourth studio album, Bell Bottom Country, produced by Jay Joyce. The album spawned three No. 1 hits—“Heart Like a Truck,” “Watermelon Moonshine,” and “Wildflowers & Wild Horses”—and won Best Country Album at the 2024 Grammys, along with Album of the Year honors at both the ACM and CMA Awards. In 2023, she achieved six CMA Awards, including Entertainer of the Year, making her the first woman to win since Taylor Swift in 2009.

Her fifth album, Whirlwind, arrived August 2024, debuting at No. 8 on the Billboard 200—her first top 10 on that chart—and earned a Best Country Album Grammy nomination for 2025. The lead single, “Hang Tight Honey,” headlined her ongoing Whirlwind World Tour (Mar–Nov 2025), which had sold‑out shows across North America and Europe.

Wilson’s discography is marked by powerful collaborations: her duet “Never Say Never” with Cole Swindell (2021) topped country charts; “Wait in the Truck” with Hardy addressed domestic abuse and won CMA Video of the Year in 2023; and “Save Me” with Jelly Roll earned a Grammy nomination in 2024. Beyond music, she collaborated with Keith Urban on his 2024 single “Go Home W U” and co-wrote MacKenzie Porter’s 2023 single “Chasing Tornadoes”.

Television and cultural crossovers have also boosted her profile: songs like “Straight Up Sideways” and “Small Town Girl” featured in Yellowstone, and she had a recurring acting role in Season 5 as Abby. On June 7, 2024, Wilson was invited and inducted into the Grand Ole Opry—welcomed by Garth Brooks, Trisha Yearwood, Terri Clark, and Wynonna Judd.
